The Holy
Spirit
We believe that
the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, proceeding from God, the Father, is the
executive power of God, by which the Church is born again, taught,
instructed, inspired, energized and empowered for its God-given ministry;
and that every believer is commanded to be filled therewith. St John 3:3-8;
14:15-18; 15:26; 16:7-11; Ephesians 5:18; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1-4; Luke 24:49.
The Fall of
Man
We believe man
was created holy, and in his holy estate enjoyed the personal presence and
fellowship of His Creator with unspeakable Edenic happiness; but by wilful
and voluntary transgression, he fell from his Edenic bliss, and under just
condemnation was banished there from, to suffer the death of separation from
God, and become a bond-slave to Satan, without defence or excuse. Genesis
3:1-24; Romans 5:12-19; I Corinthians 15:21-22.
The
Atonement
We believe in
the sacrificial death and vicarious atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ, for
man’s sin; that “He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for
our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon me, and with His
stripes we are healed”. That, “being justified freely by His blood, we are
saved from wrath through Him”. Romans 5:9; Isaiah 53:5; St John 3:14-17; I
Peter 2:24; 3:18; Hebrews 9:28.
The
Resurrection and Ascension
We believe in
the triumphant bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, and His glorious
ascension with the same body, glorified into heaven, to the right hand of
the Majesty on high, where he forever lives as our High Priest, making
intercession for us. Matthew 28:1-6; Luke 24:36-48; Acts 1:9-11; Ephesians
4:8-10; Hebrews 7:22-28;
Justification
We believe Jesus
Christ was delivered for our offences, and raised for our justification;
that being justified by faith in His death and resurrection, we have peace
with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; by whom we have now received the
atonement. Romans 4:25; 5:1-9.
Sanctification and Holiness
We believe it is
the privilege of every believer to be sanctified wholly, spirit, soul and
body; that we are sanctified only in the proportion that we live and obey
the Word of God, that we are sanctified and made holy as we obey the TRUTH.
“Thy Word is Truth”. We are commanded to be holy as He is Holy, for “without
holiness no man shall see the Lord”. Leviticus 20:7; Matthew 5:48; St John
17:17-19; I Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 12:14.
Divine Healing
We believe
divine healing is a part of the atonement, and is a Gospel privilege, which
has never been withdrawn from the believing Church. Isaiah 53:6; Matthew
8:17; 28:18-20; Hebrews 13:8.
Water
Baptism
We believe that
immersion, which symbolizes death, burial and resurrection of the believer
is the only Scriptural mode of water baptism; demonstrated by the baptism of
our Lord Jesus Christ – being baptized in this manner; leaving us an example
that we should follow in His steps. Matthew 3:13-17; Romans 6:3-5; 1 Peter
2:21.
The Sabbath Day
We believe the
7th Day is still the Sabbath of the Lord our God; that He has never changed,
nor authorized anyone else to change His holy day from the Seventh to any
other day. We find no authority anywhere in the Scriptures for the first day
observance, nor any evidence of the first day resurrection, upon which the
erroneous claim for the first day Sabbath observance is based. Deuteronomy
4:2; Psalm 89:34; Proverbs 30:6; Revelation 22:14, 18,19.
The Ten Commandments
We believe that
the Ten Commandments should be adhered according to Exodus 20:1-17 taking
special note of verse 8 of that particular chapter.
The Second
Coming
We believe the
second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ is very near; that it will be
personal, literal, pre-millennial; that He is coming to reign on the earth;
and that the saints will reign with Him a thousand years; and of the
increase of His government, and peace there shall be no end. Isaiah 9:6-7;
Acts 1:9-11; James 5:7-8; Revelation 1:7; Revelation 20:4; 5:10.
The
Christian Church
We believe the
Christian Church, built upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets,
and Jesus Christ the Chief cornerstone, is a body of born again believers,
who follow Christ as their perfect example in all things; and His teachings
as their infallible guide; and are as thoroughly detached and separate from
the world as was He: walking in holiness of life and character; that its
work and ministry is supported financially, on the Bible plan of tithes and
free will offerings. Numbers 18:20-24; Malachi 3:8-12
